When I think of gluten-free apple cinnamon crisp I do not think of delicious. I have always enjoyed the taste of a lightly-baked apple crisp. The texture of the crumble topping is the best I have ever tasted, and the addition of cinnamon and fresh apples is just heavenly. I decided to try my hand at making a gluten-free version for a few reasons.
Since I have a friend with celiac disease, I know that gluten-free baking can be a challenge. I do not have to worry about cross-contamination as I will not have any non-gluten-free flour out while making this dessert.
Also, I enjoy baking with gluten-free flours and have been trying to find new and exciting recipes to try out. I thought it would be a perfect gluten-free dessert with a combination of apples and cinnamon.
